Author Brings Extraordinary Life to Small Screen
World-Renowned African-American Paranormalist to Launch New TV Show
(I-Newswire) January 4, 2005 - BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ? S. Aura Ajayi has a lot to talk about. Wife of a Nigerian Prince and cousin to Oprah Winfrey, she is also a pioneer in the telekinetic/paranormal field, a survivor of rape and the founder of a nonprofit organization. Beginning in March, she will light up cable TV with her incredible energy on "The Aura Show."
"The Aura Show" will debut on the Chicago-based CANTV, just in time for Women’s History Month. According to Ajayi, the program will send a message of strength and solidarity to those who have suffered through rape or domestic violence. It will also discuss the work of her organization, SIRMIR, Inc., which is dedicated to helping sexual assault victims. Ajayi will not only share her personal life experiences, she will also inform the public about available resources and introduce positive role models on her show. Her first guest is scheduled to be Chief Yvonne Taylor of the Chicago Sheriff’s Department.
Although Ajayi’s gifts as a paranormalist have earned her worldwide recognition, she notes that writing her autobiography, Aura: The Ebony Princess (now available through AuthorHouse), gave her a new level of motivation. It also opened the door to this latest opportunity. "I was studying to be a producer for a show for my daughter, who is a hip-hop singer," she writes. "When they found out about my book, they said I would be foolish not to do a show on my life too."
In addition to her small screen debut, Ajayi is also bringing her aura to Chicago’s public schools. "Healing Through Poetry" is a contest she holds for children in grades four through eight. Eventually, the best poems will be featured on her television show and the children will be awarded with "chillin’ chairs."
It seems success runs in the family, as Ajayi gears up to be the second talk-show personality among her relatives. With many accomplishments already on the books and no sign of slowing down ahead, this resilient and energetic lady has a resounding message to share: "Never give up, no matter what!"
Ajayi has received honors for television and radio appearances relating to her paranormal work. She studied theater and education in college and earned two degrees, including a master’s in education. She has just completed her second book, The Eluzer, which is a science-fiction mystery. Ajayi currently lives in Chicago.
