Book4U is a new Australia based service that allows teachers to effectively print their students’ work in a book format. This is a wonderful idea which allows you to easily print books such as graduation books, yearbooks, project books and class books. All you have to do is to use the interface provided on the website; you don’t have to download anything-this becomes the greatest advantage of Book4U. There are a large number of features which can be used to give each book a distinct style, due to which teachers and students can ensure a different looking book each time.

It is the teachers who are the most bowled over with Book4U. Since the system automates everything, the teachers don’t have to face the burden of making the books themselves. Book4U makes the books all right, and then the teachers can adorn them in whatever way they like to finish the book. In no time, they will have the finished book ready to use.

If you are a teacher wishing to use this application, you will have to register yourself. Once that is done, the teachers can invite students, each of which will have to register too. Every student is expected to produce files in formats such as .doc and .jpg and then send them over to the teacher through the network that has been created. The files can be sent over by just one students at a time, or even a collective entry can be made by a team working together. This method allows every student to give something creatively toward the generation of the book, which is why it becomes a team endeavor.

It is the teacher looking into the book’s creation who will decide how the book must look when done. Various things can be done during the formation stage of the book-the teacher can call for some modifications and additions or deletions as needed. The presentation of the book is the teacher’s call. It is only when everyone is satisfied with how the book looks is the decision made to get the book printed. The decision to print always needs the teacher’s affirmative nod.

But what makes Book4U so great? It is easy to see how it benefits teachers who are usually harrowed whenever they have to get any student books made. Also, teachers can easily ask their students to provide something for the book, thus improving their creativities. Everyone can keep track of what is happening with the book and they can decide when it is really completed and must go for printing. Then there is always the fact that no application needs to be downloaded and that certainly adds a lot of value to the Book4U idea.

I live in the united kingdom and have written a novel. It is about 150 pages. I want it as a paper back. I am a first time author and want to sell the novels myself. What is the cheapest way to get it printed? I do not want to use "print on demand" , as I much rather sell hardcopies. What kind of costs does it involve ? It needs to be cheap for me to sell it to my friends and family.

I am doing a Dissertation on Self-Publishing & Print-on-Demand,

The guys from South Side Sanctuary printing in South Austin, Texas do live print on demand screenings at the SXSJ event during SXSW 2009.

I am looking for a business who can print on-demand, preferably posters ranging in size from 81/2" x 11" to 24" x 36" (2′ x 3′). I have been looking all over for a business who can print a large poster for under and have not found any.

Could anyone recommend one to me?
