i think self publishing works if you only want like 20 copies of your book made to give to people you know, but that is just my view- erin

Yeah you weren’t saying anything against Kevin Smith. Great video btw.

  8. SamProof — April 15, 2009 @ 3:23 am

Why do you think I have something against Kevin Smith? I said I’m not going to “Kevin smith it” and put myself in to a crazy amount of debt on a novel.

Whoa, time to switch to decaf April! No seriously, this is good stuff to know. Being a fiction writer, I almost took the self-publishing route, but it’s just like you said, no desire go further in debt.

You’ve got some good points… also I’ve found that for a fiction writer, there’s not just a lot of work and money needed, but a lack of prestige, actually a stigma on people who resort to self-publication. Though maybe that’s what’s in the article… Gonna go read that now! Good luck with the real houses!
