My CX6600 Epson Printer will not stay aligned vertically.?

Short Run Printing

About every 1 to 1 1/2 inches it prints a vertically misaligned line. It doesn’t matter what program I am using or what I am printing. I have cleaned the heads, run the realignment utility numerous times and nothing helps. Or else it helps for a very short time, and then is right back to printing misaligned printouts again.

Also, we will not be using our CX6600 for a couple of months, so what should be done to keep it in decent working order when we return home.

It sounds like there is a problem with the printer that cannot be fixed by realigning the heads every few prints. You might need to send it to Epson or take it to an Epson authorized repair shop to have it fixed. If still under warranty, this should be free of charge for you. You shouldn’t have to clean and realign the heads so often. Remember that both of these functions will use up ink, so you’re wasting money and your time by not getting the correct prints.

As for keeping the printer dormant for a few months, there isn’t much you can do about it other than turning it off, covering it to keep dust off and do not take any of the cartridges out, as that will dry the nozzles and could potentially ruin the printer.
