This is not "short-run" - this is individualized per-copy printing, and each copy is different. That’s a problem.
Have you checked out Amazon? Read their website for publishers thoroughly. As for POD for solo copies, you are simply going to have to do your homework.
It will be expensive, so are you SURE your price is going to be high enough to cover your print costs, marketing, shipping, etc? Marketing takes half your gross. Shipping, even for book rate (media) mail, is getting costly and tracking is necessary on each shipment these days. Postage, tracking, padded envelope, labels - plan on $2.50-3.00/book just for your ship costs, not labor (handling).
