A couple questions:
1) Just thinking, can you make a private book on wordclay? I am just curious.
2) Is it possible to take the book out once you publish it?
3) People keep saying that there are hidden costs on websites like this. Is there any.
4) Do I get any money from this and is there anything needed to use this website like a credit card, could I use money order, and ect? How do I get the money basicly if I get any at all?
The book price is dependent on your final page count (there’s a minimum of 48 pages). You can estimate your cost for your book using the calculator on Wordclay’s homepage. But there’s no minimum purchase required (you do not have to order your book to make it available for sale in the online bookstore). You can design your own book cover, title and all, and Wordclay will apply it to your book project for $25 (the DIY Cover Conversion service).
that works fine cuz manga is printed in black and with with the only color being on the cover will it cost me anything since it is a graphic novle? will it cost me anything to upload my pic for the cover of the book too? and what if the title is written on the pic i upload for the cover?
Wordclay can help you publish any kind of book. Currently Wordclay offers three softcover book sizes: 5×8, 6×9 and 8.25×11 inches. The largest size would work best to accommodate graphic novels. You should be aware, however, that at this time there is only a black and white printing option for interior pages. Covers are printed in color.
I want to be a Mangaka or a manga writer manga is a Japanese comic will wordclay publish that or is this just for word novels and not graphic ones?
thank you!!
Yes, you can publish a book of short stories quite easily. You’ll just need to combine all of your stories into one Microsoft Word file before you upload your book. And, there is a 48 page minimum for books (NOT 48 Microsoft Word pages; 48 pages once it’s in the book format you choose).
Overall, I’d say Wordclay’s online publishing is very short-story friendly.
Is this also short-story friendly?
You can use an ISBN that you purchase through Wordclay. The ISBNs also include retail channel distribution. You can choose to have Wordclay as your publisher, or you can be the publisher (your own publishing imprint).
The “coming soon” within Wordclay’s bookstore becomes live, or available to purchase typically within one week.
Can I use an ISBN I obtained by myself?
How soon does the “coming soon” become “live”?
Your book will be available with Wordclay’s free service through Wordclay’s online bookstore. And, if you pay extra for an ISBN and channel distribution, then yes, your book will be available for bookstores to order, such as Borders, Barnes and Noble and Amazon and it will be posted on their websites.
Regarding the royalty, you have a choice of how much to make per book. A “base price” is calculated in the publishing wizard, then you can raise the sales price to make a higher royalty.
Will the book be like in bookstores like in borders? Also ho much of the royalty do you get? PLEASE REPLY!!!!!!!!!!!
Great movie! Audio books are becoming more popular. I posted a trailor her that I made reading an excerpt of “Rage” part of a collection of stories by published author, Shane Joseph as his book trailor. He loved my representation and mentioned that my tones, accent etc. gave the perfect “mood” for his book. I charge a great deal LESS than many who already offer this service. Anyone have a book they would like a trailor for? Visit my page & listen to a few then write me.
Yes, you will still receive payment for the royalties for your book, even if you are under 18.
I found this site through google and I loved it . But my question is that does age matter in anyway ? Because my Im still under 18 and my parents are very supportive and willing to help in anyway and they were glad to find out that it didnt cost a penny but they were also wondering what if someone bought the book would i still be able to gain that money the was earned?
ok thx
Hey, that’s great! We’re happy to have you.
And yes, you can sell copies on your own. You can purchase your book for a discounted author price, then resell them at whatever price you wish. You won’t get any additional payment from Wordclay for the books you purchase at your discounted rate, but whatever you make off the books you sell, you keep. Hope that makes sense. But if you still have questions, you can chat with one of our customer support people for more info.
I am working on getting my first book published with Word Clay but I was wondering if when your book is published can you order copies of your book to sell on your own? or can you not do that? and how much money do you get back for your royalty?
thx I’m glad that I found you guys…
Congrats on your book! Yes, once you’ve finished publishing your book, it will show as “coming soon” in the bookstore until it’s available for purchase, or “live,” through our printer. You can contact Wordclay’s customer support reps to find out more about the status of your book. Just go to Wordclay’s site, and click the “help” tab to contact them instantly through Live Chat (like IM), or email.
I just published my first book on wordclay for free. I was wondering when it will be subjected for purchase since it still says “coming soon”. Thank you. Wordclay is great ^^
Yes, you can always have Wordclay do the work for you, but you’ll still be involved in the process and have the final approval. In the Services Store, they offer a lot of options. For example, you can have them format your book’s interior, design the cover and obtain an ISBN and distribution. Then, you could either order books for your friend’s store, or you can have your friend order the books on their own, and you’d get paid a royalty for that book order at a later date from Wordclay.
hey just want to know
say you do not want to do the all above and want to hire you guys to do the publishing ect…i can also just pay my way,if thats okay
cause i have no time plus even though you can sell the book on line,i would also need my own personal books to place in my friends stores here in the buckeye state..go bucks!
is that possible? i hope i’ll be able to do this and pay the $100 worldwide sells…sooooo
Yes, if someone buys your book through our Web site, you earn a royalty on the sale. You actually choose the royalty amount/selling price of your book during the online publishing process — the higher the price, the larger the royalty payment. Wordclay mails royalty checks quarterly (4 times/year). And, if you buy an ISBN for your book, marketing services are not included, but we do offer help through our store, and we provide helpful tips and how-to’s on our site.
Thank you. I have a couple of other questions. First you say its available for purchase through your website. If someone bought the book would i get the money, would it be sent into a bank account? And with this ISBN would you guys help me market it, and get it into these bookshops?
Tha could just as easily be a typo. You know everyone makes mistakes. Hey i’m sure J.K. rowling probably made a few basic errors. Have you ever tried writing a noval? Around a hundred thousand words, I’m sure not evan you guys can get everyone correct.
