Photo printing solution to replace Polaroid camera?

Print On Demand

I need to come up with a solution for printing digital photos in a situation where a Polaroid camera would have been useful. Specifically a photo with Santa type situation where I need to print pictures pretty much on demand. Ideally the solution would be able to automatically send images from my digital camera to either a laptop or photo printer and then automatically output a 3×5 or 4×6 photo.

For what it’s worth, I have a Sony A200 DSLR.

    Hello Justin.

Go to http://www.shutterbug.com and type ‘march 2009′ in the Search box. Click on March Table of Contents and then scroll down to Business Trends: Selling Event Photography by Maria Piscopo. Or you could just buy the magazine.

I’m a long-time subscriber to Shutterbug and find it very informative with equipment reviews and how-to articles.

In my opinion, anyone really interested in photography should be subscribed to at least one photography magazine. That’s just my opinion though.

For $200 or less you can get a dye sublimation printer at 4×6.

This is as close to a photo lab as you can get for home use.

In order to print any larger than that, your prices start to skyrocket into the high hundreds and thousands of dollars.

Just do a web search on dye sub 4×6 printer

Just get a Fuji instant camera! Same thing as a polaroid, but still in business. :)

You might want to consider the new Polaroid hybrid camera, the Pogo.

It incorporates a 5mp digital camera and their own dye-sub printer in a camera:
