My printer is mis-behaving, can anyone help? It will not print on command?

Print On Demand

For no reason that I can fathom it will no longer print on demand, not even the test page. Other tests suggest it is OK. It's an Epson A3/A4 Stylus photo 1200 printer and has been good up 'til now. It is set up for LTP1. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks

.I would first uninstall and then reinstall the printer driver, and if that doesn't fix the problem, do a search on google or the manufacturers web site to see if there is an updated driver for this make and model.

And I would also search google to see if anyone else is talking about having the same problem with this type of printer and what they may have done to fix it.

If this printer plugs into a USB port, try another port as sometimes they can stop working properly(like mine) and try something else USB in that port to double check to see if the port is working correctly. I hope it is not a hardware problem as it can be a nuisance

If you can replace it, go on!
If it is within guarantee period, call the supplier/ manufacturer!
If it is expensive, think and work on it, but do not invest money and time to correct it!

try re-installing the printer drivers on the PC, should clear it up.

If you are using XP, you can delete the printer in Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Printers and Faxes

Then click Add New Printer and follow the on-screen steps.

Check the cable, replace the cable, reinstall the driver, reboot the computer, etc. . . .

check that no-one has been into the control panel and changed the settings.
I have a very clever 9 year old who can not read but can work out how to disable my pc in ten mins. Good Luck.

Have you checked that there are no documents pending etc.I usually find that if you look around at your print properties and things like that you will find something that's not how it should be and you can sort it out.Just check everything.

    Hi,

Try uninstalling the software in Control/add and remove programmes. Diconnect your printer from wall then put on again and reinstall software then do a test paper.

Could be a virus, however my pal had a similar problem with his printer and it worked.

    Good Luck

look in the printer spool*, and make sure you delete all documents pending… you can remove the drivers and re-install/ in add/remove programs….also system restore may help…
*start, controlpanel, printers and faxes ,view installed printers, rightclick printer icon check properties, and delete pending if any there… good luck

If you haven't already done this, check Epson support to see if there's a driver update. Are you networked, and is the printer set up for sharing, and/or is it the default printer? Sometimes my PC 'forgets' those little details, and I have to keep tweaking it. And the old standby: unplug it, uninstall it, reboot, and reinstall from scratch. If none of this works, it's probably gone pffft.

it is a known problem. try to remove printer from your computer without even a trace of it. then install the same printer with online installation software. if it still doesn't work go for a new and 100% working one.

Remove and replace (with a little wiggle) both the printer end plug and PC end plug,
    Leave one plug (printer) out
    Uninstall software and reboot
    Re-install software, reboot.
