I have a paperback book in .pdf format, have been working with lulu.com with very mixed results re print quality.
Anyone recommend a service that will only manufacture book (i.e. no design or marketing or promotion services), that does consistently good work?

The only source I can think of is local book printers. You can find any one of them by simply typing in 'local book printers' or 'book printers' in the search bar, and you would come up with a list on Google or MSN/Yahoo!.
